Hi guys, I just got back from London and seeing Guys
and Dolls. I also met Ewan and got his autograph.
Unfortunately, I didn't say anything to him, I was too
nervous. But that was definitely my biggest regret. I
so wanted to say something like "I came from Canada to
see you and you were fantastic." He was signing
autographs like he was on automatic pilot. There were
quite a bit of people (around 50-100).
On Monday, June 12th, I lined up at the autograph
queue at the side of the theatre where the stagedoor
is and got him to sign my Moulin Rouge DVD and my Long
Way Round book. I didn't have a program at that time
because my show wasn't until Wednesday June 15th.
After the show, I lined up to get my program
autographed but he didn't come out on Wednesday. I was
so lucky that I had this feeling he wouldn't come out
on Wednesday (because he does 2 shows and must be
tired) and I went to get his autograph on the Monday.
Still, I was really disappointed because I had planned
to say something to him this time. I was too nervous
the first time on Monday so I just got him to sign my
stuff and said "thank you" and it was over really
fast. I have lots of photos of him and 2 short videos
of him signing my stuff and other people's stuff.
There was this one girl in front of me in the
autograph line who when she got to him said she didn't
have anything for him to sign. He sort of when "awww"
then she asked him if he could sign her shoes to which
he said "sorry darling, I can't sign your shoes." Then
either he or his publicist managed to produce a piece
of paper which he signed for her.
By the way, I loved the show. It was really good. I
thought Ewan was great and gorgeous and actually
thought his singing was excellent. Not too many people
can sing like that so those critics who are saying
negative things about his singing can go fly a kite.
Even my husband liked the show and he actually said
Ewan was very good and seemed like a cool guy.
Oh yeah, Ewan is really gorgeous in real life. He
looks even better in person I thought. How is that
possible, right? But it is. He was radiant.
