Can you send me some pictures or audio files?
Sorry, but as of May of 2004 I have been on dial up service. I
can barely stand the wait uploading files to my own site. So, no.
I'm afraid I cannot.
How do I contact Ewan?
Go to the 'write to Ewan' section. It's under the Ewan section of the menu.
Can you forward Ewan this for me?
Umm, no I can't. I'm not in contact with him. But I have
it on good authority that his parents Jim and Carol answer his fan
mail. Try the addresses listed on this site. You might get a lovely
surprise in your mailbox.
I found out you met Ewan! What was it like?
It was incredible! I've wrote the entire experience and put it
under the Fan Encounters section to share with everyone. Check it
out.
Does Ewan come to the site?
When I met Ewan in March for the second time he did say that he
had seen my site. But I doubt he's a regular surfer. He's much to
busy making movies for us to enjoy! :-)
What programs did you use to make your site?
I use Macromedia Dreamweaver
Paint Shop Pro
Adobe Photoshop
Dynamic Drive.com
Can I use your pictures on my site?
Sure go ahead. Just don't take entire galleries please and a note about
where they came from and/or a link back so others can find my site
would be very appreciated. The wallpapers, however, take alot of work
and I'd rather not have them on another site. If you really want to
display them just email me. I'm sure we can work something out.
Why do you put a logo on your images?
Unfortunately a year or two ago it became necessary. After all
the work I put into this site and the images and wallpapers on it,
I would sit back and enjoying surfing other Ewan sites only to be
devestated to find that someone had taken an image without asking,
and without mentioning where it came from. I even have people that
are still taking my artwork, montages, ect and placing it wherever
they like, sites, journals and never saying where it came from. What's
worse, they even remove the logo that tells you I made the art! Please
don't remove my logo. I just want people to know where the image came
from so they can find the site!
Can I remove it?
I can't stop you, but again I'd really rather you didn't. This
helps others that like the image and want to see more find my website.
But these images aren't yours unless you've taken them right? Anyone
should be able to just run off with them and share them with everyone.
That's what my website is for. To share my images of Ewan with you. No, most
of the images on this website were not taken by me and they were found
in various magazines, books, and other sources. I didn't take the
picture so I they aren't 'mine' in the sense I didn't actually take any
(except for the ones of Ewan I took myself in Alabama). But
I have over 5,000 images on this site. By the time I take the effort
and time to chase a magazine down, scan it, edit it, and upload it
onto the site the entire process takes anywhere from 30 min to an hour.
I am not simply scanning something and 'sticking' it on this site
as some might believe. I use high quality software to change the image
to a wallpaper, to add text, to remove text, to change colors, anything
I want really and no image I have just goes directly on the site.
It is always edited. I also pay around $100.00 a year for this
website. It isnt free and neither are the magazines I get my hands
on.
So you see, I put alot of work into this site and it's images and I love
doing it! I will never say I 'own' the image as I truly do not. All
I want is acknowlegement for the time spent on the finished product
you see on this site and once again a way for others to find my site
if they want to see more of my work. Please don't attack myself and
other fan sites for their opinions and beliefs. (you know who you
are) who are only trying to bring you the best fansite he/she can
bring you. Yes, I've literally had people attack me on this issue.
That's why you get this long boring paragraph on it all.
Where can I find Lipstick on your Collar and Scarlet and Black or the shows
Trips Money Can't Buy and The Bear Facts? They seem so elusive.
Lipstick and Scarlet and Black are both very early examples of Ewan's
work and therefore are harder to find. I got my copys off of Ebay,
which isn't always the best as they are copies. But there is a campaign
to get both of these on DVD. Hopefully all the fans voicing their
desire for this will get the BBC to release them in the future. As
for the Bear Facts it's available on DVD in Australia and other areas
in Region 2 on DVD. Here in the States you can sometimes find it on
VHS on Amazon.com. Trips Money Can't Buy airs often on the Travel
channel. Watch your local listings for it.
